VAN BRIGGLE POTTERY - Collector Society Tile from 1997. American Art Pottery.
The colors reveal a gorgeous matte tan outside border, with a matte turquoise or celadon-tone art deco design in the middle area. The inside "AA symbol" is glazed with a matte light color I'd describe similar to a dark apricot, which compliments the other two colors on the tile. It says "Van Briggle" on the top, "Collector Society" on the right and leff sides, and "1997" on the bottom border. No flaws or imprefections are noted.

THIS COLLECTOR SOCIETY tile was offered during 1997 for VB Collector Society Members Only. It is in beautiful, new condition -- never framed -- and has the correct marking on the back as seen in the second picture. This is a nice example of Van Briggle tile, with a very "substantial" weight and feel to it, proof that this is a very high-quality, hand-made tile. Van Briggle has a much more substantial "weight" than a lot of professional potteries in the U.S., which is a real plus for the Collector. Will compliment your Arts and Crafts decor framed or set on a stand. (This auction item is not framed however.) Size: 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" Thickness: Nearly 1/2" thickness
