"Platte Wheeler Vase" designed by Fred Wills, Retired Master Potter formerly with Van Briggle Pottery in Colorado Springs, CO. Fred's work is loved by collectors nationally and internationally, considered to be the United States' most prolific potter. A true American Craftsman ... Fred Wills is well respected for his talent and love of the pottery wheel.  Fred retired several years ago, but lucky for us -- still has the desire to create beautiful American Art pottery. 

This new design is offered in a partnership with Fred Wills.  "Platte Wheeler Vase" was originally hand-thrown on the pottery wheel and hand carved by Fred. It is a unique design, created in May 2011. The hand carving across the front is in a wheat pattern.   It was then moulded for the sake of reproduction, then cast, etched and glazed by Castle Rock Potters. 100% Made in America!! 

PLATTE WHEELER VASE stands 7 1'2" tall and 3 1/2" at its widest part -- a fabulous size for a cabinet vase.  Note the symmetrical, graceful lines -- perfection evident from the hands of a Master. The glaze is a lovely glossy brown-green tone. The molten glazes flow into the hand carved surface.  The glaze is "Green Firewood," a medium brown-green tone that displays the glossy glaze and the upper rim has tan-to-white-to brown speckling -- very cool glaze!
