Loading... Please wait... Castle Rock Pottery is introducing Bat Vase, a new design. This unique, custom design was created by craftsman Mike Cowles, who previously worked as production supervisor at Van Briggle Pottery, Colorado Spgs. Mike's previous "Bat Bowl" was commissioned by the Cave of the Winds, near Pikes Peak -- so bats are a specialty of his.
This unique bat hangs upside down, with its head toward the base of the piece, its legs and claws clutching onto a tree branch with acorn towards the top of the vase. Highly detailed! See closeup pictures of #5 and #6 to see the legs, claws and head. Cool bat wings spread all around the vessel of this vase, from front-to-back! Very interesting and fun piece to call your own -- great for bat collectors, arts and crafts enthusiasts, and those who love unique pottery!
BAT VASE stands approximate 6" tall and 4" wide. The opening is about 3" across. The glaze color is a gorgeous deep red/burgundy, with black highlights. The glaze is a satin/low gloss finish (satins are midway between glossy and matte). The pottery has a substantial feel to it, with the inside fully glazed with a high quality finish. Stamped and etched "Castle Rock Pottery" on the bottom. 100% MADE IN AMERICA!
If you're a collector of bats, you'll LOVE this piece!!! It's outstanding in design, color and detail.
